Easter Crafts For Kidsย

Let your kids (and yourself!) get creative with these engaging Easter craft

Easter Egg Painting

This time-honored tradition is one of the all-time favorite Easter activities for kids. Your kids probably canโ€™t wait to dye eggs on Easter morning, so let them do it in their pajamas!ย

When it comes to how to dye Easter eggs, there are a couple of different ways you can approach the process. You can use food coloring, which is the best process if you want to dye your eggs one solid color or add simple designs. Or you can purchase a kit that allows you to create eggs that have swirled, speckled, or spotted patterns. Whichever you choose, your child will have a ton of fun showing off their creative sparks while wearing Posh Peanutโ€™s Azalea print, which features bunnies and chicks.

Materials To Dye Easter Eggs:ย

  • Dozen Hard-Boiled Eggs
  • Vinegar
  • Food Dye or Prepackaged Kit
  • Clear Jars or Bowls
  • Whisk or Spoon
  • Optional: Masking or Painting Tape

Let your hard-boiled eggs cool to room temperature or chill them in the refrigerator. Boil a pot of water. Pour 1 cup of water into a glass container and add 2 teaspoons of vinegar. Add several drops of food coloring until the water turns your desired shade. Take an egg and gently put it in the colored water with a spoon or cradled inside a whisk. The egg should be fully submerged. Leave it in for about 5 minutes, longer if you want a deeper shade of egg. Gently lift it out of the water. Put the egg on a stack of paper towels to dry. You can tape off areas of the egg before you dip them in the dye to add simple geometric designs once the egg is removed. You can also experiment with removing the tape and putting the egg in another colored dye for a two-tone effect. If you are using a prepackaged kit, follow the included instructions. ย

Cotton Ball Bunniesย

Your kids can create their own Peter Cottontail, inspired by our adorable Darwin bunny collection. Youโ€™ll need a drawing of a bunnyโ€™s face which you can do freehand, or you can print one out here, to bring your hopper to life.

Materials For Cotton Ball Bunnies:

  • Bunny Face Drawingย
  • Light Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • Cotton Balls
  • Straws or Pipe Cleaners
  • Old Buttons
  • Glue

Trace the bunny face drawing on colored construction paper and cut it out. Instruct your child to place a drop of glue on the bunny face and then add a cotton ball on top. Repeat this process until the whole face is covered except for the ears. Glue on the straws or pipe cleaners to create the bunny's whiskers and use old buttons as eyes and the nose. You can also cut them out of the construction paper.

Paper Plate Bunny Masks

You can transform your little one into one funny bunny with this easy-to-make mask which will look so cute with their Easter outfits. Just a couple of paper plates does the trick!

Materials For Paper Plate Bunny Masks

  • Paper Plates
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Crayons or Markers
  • Hole punch
  • String

Hold a paper plate to your childโ€™s face and figure out where to make eyes, nose, and mouth holes. Cut out those circles. Cut another paper plate in half. Staple each plate half to the top of the first plate for the bunny ears. Allow your child to decorate the plate with crayons or markers. Once done, punch holes into each side of the face plate. Cut two pieces of string long enough to tie around the back of your childโ€™s head. Loop one piece of string through each hole and secure it with a knot. Tie the mask on your child and let them hop it out.

Popsicle Easter Baskets

With this inventive idea, you and your children can make your own Easter baskets for the holiday. Just think of all the Posh Peanutย goodies you can put inside!ย

Materials For Popsicle Easter Basket:

  • Small Cardboard Box
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Glue
  • Paintย
  • Construction Paper
  • Tape

Cut the top off a cardboard box. Take a handful of popsicle sticks, and place glue on the bottom half of each stick. Have your child glue the popsicle sticks all around the cardboard box. Let it dry. Once dry, allow younger children to paint the glued on sticks. Let it dry. Cut a long strip from medium-weight construction paper. Bend it across the box to create a handle. Tape it in place. If you have older artistic children, they can paint the popsicles before attaching them to the box, giving them a chance to experiment with different angles and designs.
